"... . . . he gave it and the boy to Hagar, and sent her away." Genesis 21:14
Tell your neighbor, Its Moving Time! After having read and studied Genesis 21 &22 I see that there comes a time in our lives where God has us to move on from something.
Now I don't know what your something is, but sure enough there is a "something". Let's call that something "Ishmael" for the purposes of this message. This is not a very complicated message (unless you want to make it so). This is a message from the Lord! If the truth be told we all have some people, some attitudes, some traditions, some bad habits, some places and some pain that we simply must let go. We must be just like Abraham and tell our issue to go.
Abraham in this text did not want to let go of his son that he obviously loved and cared for. How would we feel if we had to let our loved one go. Think about it, why would God tell Abraham to let his son go? God must have known how much this would hurt Abraham to let his son go. God must have known that is would result in a very sad time. Remember how sad God was when He had to take Jesus? Yet God did in fact tell and mean for Abraham to "let it go."
I tell you, ITS MOVING TIME!
If you are like me then you have something in your life that represents your Ishmael. The thing that God allowed you to get because you did not wait and do it His way. But now it is time to let it go so that you can "clearly see" and take every advantage of your Isaac. Notice how God did not have Abraham to move on until Isaac was there. Just know that if you trust God He already has a replacement for you. A better thing, a supernatural thing. Be it, job, husband, wife, family, finances, church, ministry or actions, God always has a better.
Your Isaac is that Supernatural thing that God wants to do in and through you. However, as long as you refuse to move on from your past you run the risk of living the Abundant Christian Life. God wanted Abraham to trust Him for the promised Isaac. Don't be tricked by the enemy just because you got used to the thing and you liked it or that it served a good purpose. Even though God allowed you to have it, its still time to move on.
What has God promised you, yet you settled for your Ishmael though God wants to give you an Isaac?
Maybe, just maybe ITS MOVING TIME!
